John's Challenge is a quest that takes place in Vlamma.

Description

John is located in the Right wing of Vlamma, he can be seen near the Cable cars entrance heading to Alavi. To do this quest you must defeat a Coromon 3x your level within Vlamma.

Strategy

John's Triple Threat Challenge is by far the hardest Quests given, as it is RNG heavy and requires using no Held Items for this.

A useful strategy would be:

Get a Purrgy that's level 11 with the trait Kindred Soul. For the moves, use Fade Attack, Kitty Claws, Epiphany, and Poison Chomp. It is very important to do Hard Resetination to give it Max Defense, the other stats won't matter with this strategy. As for the target Coromon, go for a Gildwing that's level 33 or above. It will have the moves Peck, Pyre Peck, Agility Training, and Feather Fury. After you've gotten the Purrgy with the required moves:

Alternative Strategy:

  • Get a Fiddly with the trait Humidifier and the move Splash.
  • But you can't really go past level 12 (beat at least 3x level, so 36 in this example with 12).
  • Use a frozen scent, Find a Ruptius lvl 36, or lower if your Coromon is below 12. It typically has the moves Magma Punch, Lava Boulder, Heatwave and Flaming Tackle.
  • Hope the opponent misses a move or freezes. And use splash, hoping you hit 3 in a row.

Third strategy:

  • Get a Lvl.9-11 Patterbit with the trait Overclock
  • Teach it Splatter from Skill Flash 53 and give it Propeller Punch from it's own moveset
  • Use Frozen Scent
  • Find a Frozen Pyrochick more than triple your level. If your Patterbit is level 9 then every spawn will qualify.
  • Use Splatter turn 1 and hope for 3 hit or crit. Then use Propeller Punch, which will either kill or knock down the opponent.
